In an era when big bucks are being paid for big names, 303 is quietly doing the opposite: she’s paying her way. As a three year old she has already sold nearly $40,000 in progeny. Her first six bull calves have sold for an average of $4,400 dollars. As the number 22 cow in the breed for ribeye you would expect her progeny to have muscle, and they do with 8 calves at 103 for ribeye. However, 303 has proven herself to be a standout for marbling as well with 8 progeny scanned at 106 for IMF. Her first natural calf ratioed 107 at weaning, 102 at yearling and 129 for IMF and 114 for ribeye in a very solid contemporary group. Pick of her daughters by 208 sold for $7,000 in the 2006 to Four Locust Angus in Keysville. Look for big things from 303 in the future! |
